Chloe French, Director

Chloe is Eagle, Tsaagweidi Clan, (Killer Whale Seal Clan) from Kake. She grew up in California, returning to Juneau in summer as a child to visit her Grandmother, Jenny Williams Holst. Her mother is Matilda Katherine Holst French. This is a family of artists; Jenny was a basket weaver, and Matilda an opera singer. Chloe is a life long crafts artist, recently learning Chilkat weaving. She also makes button robes, quilts and beaded necklaces. This is her passion.

Chloe is a retired middle and high school teacher. She taught math, crafts and set design for many years. Her love of teaching is a part of her and she hopes to teach other Native women the joy of these crafts. With her experience in the schools, she brings a sense of adventure, tenacity, and enthusiasm for the projects Artstream supports.
