Whistle Facts
Our mission is to provide a musical venue for musicians who want to perform in an intimate, smoke-free, alcohol-free environment, and for audiences that want the same. History The House Concerts began in the living room of the Hudson House in 2000, hosted by Bill and Clarissa Hudson. We served homemade desserts and coffee and tea during our concert intermissions -- which were included in the typical $10 admission price. All proceeds from ticket sales went to our performers. The Whistle Pig Concert Series started here in Pagosa Springs in 1998
by singer/guitarist Kent Greentree and the Hudsons transferred the concert
venue to their home in 2000. Kent picked out the name, and we have been
explaining it ever since. In 2006, Chrissy and Nick Karas carried on the tradition, hosting the House Concerts in their home at 160 Peregine Place with a typical admission price of $12, with all proceeds to the performer. During 2007, we will have a very limited season, probably only a single
concert in October. We apologize to all our loyal audience members and
to the many talented musicians who have supported the the Whistle Pig
for so many years.
The Whistle Pig Concert Series is sponsored by Artstream
Cultural Resources, a Colorado and Alaska non-profit arts organization.
