Hot Strings
The Hot Strings (originally the Pagosa Hot Strings)
are a Bluegrass/Newgrass band made up of three young men living
in Pagosa Springs, Colorado. They have been playing together for
going on 12 years in the summer of 2006. The Hot Strings have
made several festival appearances including Telluride Bluegrass
Festival, Rockygrass, Four Corners Folk Festival, and The Walnut
Valley Festival in Winfield, Kansas. The band won the Telluride
band contest in 1999, and appeared on the Telluride main stage
in June of 2000.
Josiah Payne, the band's mandolin player, won the 2000 Mandolin
Championships held at the National Flatpicking Championships in
Winfield, KS in September 2000. Also, the band finished recording
their new CD, "Window of Opportunity", and it will release in
April 2001. The band has several dates lined up for this festival
season, hopefully we'll get to meet you at one! The Pagosa Hot
Strings have two CD's currently available:Their first CD, titled
"Times Like These", and the newly released, "Live at Telluride"
